Coffee – After Or Before Making Love?

For the longest time food has linked to sex so much so that many kinds of fruits, vegetables and animal products have been marketed and hyped up as having aphrodisiacal properties.  From strawberries to oysters to super foods ginseng and maca, anecdotal evidence and even medical studies have shown that the chemicals and compounds in food promote lovemaking performance.

As for coffee, it is usually take in the morning as a perk up beverage due to its caffeine content.  It can help in sex if it its effect on the consumer is mild and doesn’t cause palpitations and overexcitement which can result in premature ejaculation.  If one takes coffee regularly with no adverse effect, then try mixing it with maca powder.  It is actually a good combination as bitter coffee somehow masks the peculiar taste of maca.

Unlike pharmaceutical drugs that may cause unintended erections, coffee mixed with this popular Incan super food is said to have adaptogen properties which basically means it will give your body what it needs.  Aside from providing an energy boost for athletes and hormone balancing effect for women, maca helps increase male virility only when it is needed.  Some people taking it regularly as its effects are cumulative and do not have serious side effects.

Overconsumption of coffee may however have a negative health impacts such sleep deprivation and anxiety both of which affect sexual enjoyment.  So it is always advised to take everything in moderation and noting the effect certain foods have on one’s body.

Some manufactures market green coffee in an instant drink or natural supplement form which supposedly helps men with erectile dysfunction.  Some even claim that taking these pills increases the man’s length and girth without harmful drug related side effects.  The epimedium and cordyceps content of green coffee act as sexual enhancers and when combined with other plant extracts such as ginseng and goji berries helps promote virility.

As for “after”, unless the couple is aiming for a second round of romance or wishes to go to sleep, then by all means drink a cup of coffee some quality awake time – after all sex shouldn’t end right after the climax.
